Pori Photo Competition

CAPTURING WILDLIFE FOR CONSERVATION

Pori Competition is a series of competitions designed to empower Tanzanian Wildlife photographers. It aims at showcasing their work and enabling them to share their skills with others while enhancing theirs. The competition runs on WeNaturalists, this is a community of nature enthusiasts connecting while sharing their ideas and content. Photographers will upload their best two pictures based on the contest theme. Contestant pictures need to capture wildlife and tell a story on conservation or put emphasis on it. There will be a jury of five prominent wildlife photographers who will get to judge and pick three winners.

Tanzanian photographers can apply by clicking on the application button. Signing up for WeNaturalists. Applying from the Ngoteya Wild organization page. If accepted, share two of their best pictures on the wall for review.

PRIZES

The first three winners will have their work featured in Inflight magazines in Tanzanian flights by Land and Marine Publications.

 

The first winner will also get to go to the field and mentor young photographers while living in Nomad Tanzania’s Luxurious camps, they will also get a free pass to all Tanzanian National Parks for a year.

 

This will enable them to collect more content. 

PORI PHOTO COMPETITION, WINNERS

A big applause to our winner Emanuel Qamara @qamara.wild , a wildlife photographer and guide in the Tanzanian National parks. Over the last 7 years, he has been working with @asiliaafrica lodges and camps as a resident guide. From tour guiding, he found his passion for photography and love for wildlife and decided to start creating content to tell stories of the wild and advocate for conservation.

@qamara.wild , is a change maker, his passion for photography, his beautiful shots and heartfelt stories of the pictures moved our judges.

Our 1st runner up is @dany_samwel . He is a wildlife photographer. He began his photography career with an interest in editing pictures mostly black and white, with blurry backgrounds for storytelling then connecting with people and nature through his art. He explored many types of photos before deciding on what to focus on, he ended up falling in love with wildlife, travel & documentary photography because it allows him to capture moments and beauty in their element.

@dany_samwel is a change-maker and focuses on capturing stories that give us awareness of conservation and the beauty of nature.

Our 2nd runner-up is @kingsonmazee . He is a travel, lifestyle, nature and wildlife photographer based in Arusha-Tanzania. He has more than two years of experience in Wildlife Photography. To him, travel, lifestyle, nature and wildlife photography it’s about capturing and documenting that distant place in a single frame, pulling the viewer into the shot and making them wish that they were there because the world is far grander and more exquisite with beautiful differences than just the area that surrounds us and bringing nature’s majesty to the people, inspires and promotes the diversity of this planet and helps encourage others to explore and see the great outdoors.

@kingsonmazee is a change-maker and uses his art to advocate for conservation while telling nature’s beautiful stories.
