Survey under sunset

Cheetahs unlike other carnivores are the most active during day and mid-afternoon but under failed attempts during the daytime, they never hesitate to hunt during the night to increase their chances of catching food. During their hunts in the evening as darkness moves in, they carefully survey their surroundings if it is safe for them to hunt or to know the distance and availability of their prey. This type of behavior assists them in avoiding other big cats around the same area when they spot them, they immediately take of avoiding encounters with them.
