A picture is 1000 words, however, in other words, sunsets are nothing but an illusion. What we see in the sky is a filtering of the sun’s light. The Earth’s atmosphere scatters the sunlight, which has to travel a longer distance through many atmospheric particles at a low angle, losing the blue and violet light, which enables us to see the longer wavelengths of red and orange of the sunset. Wild sunsets are always marvelous.
