Just off the coast of the largest city in Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, there is a world of coral. However, there is a high intensity of fishing coming from a city that supports over 4.3 million people. A healthy coral reef usually has a reef teeming with many different types of fish, however, these reefs have very little fish. Unregulated and illegal fishing continues to deplete the fish populations. With proper management and regulated catches, the fish populations can once again thrive for future generations to benefit.
